Sid started the topic Value of BNG wax postal bag seals. in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 2 months ago
A PPS member (a friend) and I are entering into an exchange agreement. We know the value of his item but both of us are stumped as far as a fair value for the BNG wax postal bag seals as shown below. One is of Woodlarks and the other Baniara. Any help with valuation would be greatly appreciated.

This received recently – may be of interest
My name is Neville Glastonbury and I was a dealer operating as NRG Philatelics until a few years back.
I have a group of Papua reference books, some of which are difficult to obtain.
I would like to offer them to your society members who are wanting such material for reference purposes at a negotiable…[Read more]

I think this card is ex Tom Belknap. Yep, Prestige Auction 113 lot 960 in 2005 and previously Christies Auction lot 846 in May 1991.

Mr R P started the topic PNG current issues (or not) in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 4 months ago
I don’t collect current PNG (or follow what’s happening, other than trying to get information for the journal) but was struck by this comment from a circular email from a Sydney dealer:
“PNG seem to have stopped producing stamps nothing has been issued for
almost a year now. There are 13 issues listed on the web site for June
to September. Will…[Read more] -

It sold for Euros1650, with add-ons, probably a total close to 2k – if a PPS member won it, would love to see any comments/observation/etc

Does anyone have a cover addressed to Bougainville with the “Undeliverable due to Hostilities” stamp on it that they might be prepared to part with? I would love to have one in my cover collection.
cheers,

You begin the post with a valid question then end with the answer. Bit confusing! …and rhetorical.
The DNG occupying force was the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (ANMEF).
I’ve only seen NWPI stamps with the Woodlarks 3 ring radio staion cancel from 1918 and the Kulumadau Papuan date stamp applied to the same stamps…[Read more]

Does anyone know why the Radio station at Kulumandau on Wooklark Island used NWPI stamps rather the the Papua Lakatoi during WWI – otherr then the DNG occupying force used them and controlled that station from Rabaul

Unfortunately my BNG covers are all registered to European destinations. Pity it wasn’t the early Papua period as I have two from Buna Bay to Whitten Bros. in Samarai and one from Port moresby to Buna Bay. Proper internal usage within BNG is difficult!

Mr A J started the topic Cover prior to SEP 1906 in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 6 months ago
To complete my exhibit for the FIP Exhibition at BANDUNG, Indonesia, 3-7 August 2017, I need to acquire a simple BNG locally addressed cover prior to SEP 1906, franked with either Queensland or BNG stamp/s. The rate at that time was 2d and I would expect such a cover may be franked to 2d only. Any assistance would be appreciated.
