Two covers just have a three (3) bar cancellation with a violet circle and a dot in them.
One has no stamps available but the violet circle with the dot.
The circle is about the size of a the end of a pencil with the dot in the centre.

John Graham replied to the topic Canberra StampShow Sept in the forum PPS Members Forum 3 months ago
I know Canberra is advertising it as the “only National stamp show in 2024”, but this is not true. Toowoomba Stamp Club is hosting the National One-Frame Exhibition on October 12-13.
See https://www.toowoomba2024.com/
We are open to holding a PPS meeting on Saturday 12 for those members and other interested parties who may be present on the day.…[Read more]

Here’s information on the Canberra show. I think perhaps the only national show in Australia this year? I’m not aware of any PPS activity planned (as for myself, I’ll be in Greece then) – but, if anyone would like to suggest something, please feel free to reply to this post and see what response there is.
The Philatelic Society of Canberra…[Read more]

Mr R P started the topic May issue still delayed in the forum PPS Members Forum 5 months, 2 weeks ago
The May issue is still a ‘work-in’progress’ – still struggling with the new designer. So it looks like this is going to be the May issue that actually appears in June (fingers crossed). Be assured it has not been forgotten.

Looks like the May issue will be a bit delayed. The designer who has worked on it the past few years has moved on and it’s taking time to find someone to take over. It’s not anything I could handle so everyone will just have to be patient. I’ll advise you of the status later in the month.
In the meantime, I hope everyone will take advantage of…[Read more] -

Mr Stern and I had many conversations over the years.
After his passing, the business was continued by his son-in-law, Sam Seigal.
Absolutely top person to deal with, and he often still has items from the old days that many other dealers do not.
Nice to hear from you, Sherro. -

The name is still registered (since 2008). It’s probably run by a family trust. After the Port Phillip Arcade was redeveloped, they moved to 271 Collin Street, where they’re still trading.

They still have a website: maxstern.com.au and have an address in Melbourne CBD where you can pick up online orders. They are trading as Max Stern & Co.
I was looking to get a BW catalogue

I just noticed that there are a couple of ebay listing under the name ‘Max Stern’. I assume someone purchased the business when Max died? and still trades? solely online? Certainly one of the great names of Australian philately.
By the way, I’m starting to assemble the Feb issue of PNG calling and would be pleased to have further contributions -…[Read more] -
