Whilst in Lockdown I came across a page from a collection that stated that one of the most common forged FDCs from New Guinea is the 1935 Jubilee plain brown envelopes with just the 1d & 2d stamps with Rabaul postmarks. The covers are addressed to J. D. Harris and Son, Birmingham. The postmarks look genuine. Does anyone know the history behind this ‘forgery’?
