Mr A J replied to the topic Value of BNG wax postal bag seals. in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 3 months ago
The number of postal items identified from Baniara can be counted on one hand, so it surprises me the need for a postal bag seal. In saying that, Roger Lee states mail from Baniara was probably bagged up (with possible use of a wax seal) and processed at Samarai or Buna Bay.

Mr A J started the topic Cover prior to SEP 1906 in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 7 months ago
To complete my exhibit for the FIP Exhibition at BANDUNG, Indonesia, 3-7 August 2017, I need to acquire a simple BNG locally addressed cover prior to SEP 1906, franked with either Queensland or BNG stamp/s. The rate at that time was 2d and I would expect such a cover may be franked to 2d only. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Mr A J started the topic Red Wax Seals in the forum PPS Members Forum 7 years, 8 months ago
A number of red wax seals on the back of covers have emerged lately which interest me.
There are several GRANVILLE/BRITISH NEW GUINEA examples around.
I have a double ring circular seal MARBARE/BRITISH NEW GUINEA (with Crown centre) on a 1902 Tamata cover.
Who had these seals? On what basis were they used? -

I may have a copy of the Morobe postmark on cover dated 11NO15. Is that possible?

The early date of your cover intrigues me so I would be interested in seeing it; especially to learn what was applied as postage, who censored it and the routing (including any backstamps). Can you post a high resolution scan (1200 or 2400 dpi)?
The earliest known usage (EKU) or earliest recorded date (ERD) of Morobe P090 is “-7OC15” as seen on…[Read more]
