Whilst in Lockdown I came across a page from a collection that stated that one of the most common forged FDCs from New Guinea is the 1935 Jubilee plain brown envelopes with just the 1d & 2d stamps with Rabaul postmarks. I am just doing some research on the Australian period of PNG and was wondering why Bainings post office was closed in 1953 after only being open two years? Does anyone know why?
