Whilst in Lockdown I came across a page from a collection that stated that one of the most common forged FDCs from New Guinea is the 1935 Jubilee plain brown envelopes with just the 1d & 2d stamps with Rabaul postmarks. Here’s a bit more info on that cover (auction listing only allow for limited text)Cover with 5d green Declaration to Scotland. Bwagaoia cds (Lee 86) 15 NO38 (odd but standard gap between the ‘3’ and ‘8’. The address looks to be an inked stamp, suggesting a philatelic item (though did go through the post, so a genuine postally used cover).…[Read more]
