Captain John Moresby of HMS Basilisk landed at the inner reaches (Hanuabada) which he named Fairfax Harbour. At 10 am on 20 February 1873 he named the surrounds Port Moresby in honour of his father Admiral Sir Fairfax Moresby.

Due to the limited bidding in the last auction I have now uploaded to the web page a revised listing which shows all items that were sold/unsold. All unsold lots are available on a first come basis at 75% of estimate.
Remember 10% of sales go to the Society.
