Help – I’m trying to establish the earliest use of a Wesley cover, with or without WCS logo, in Papua New Guinea.
The 1958 – 60 issue ie.SG.18 – 24, issued 2.6.58 seems to be it. However I have a Wesley Covers not showing the logo, with an earlier issued stamp SG.16, but with a later postmark ie.13th.Dec 1959.
Wesley cover are known to have been used in Australia prior to 1958, the first Official Wesley Cover with logo came about in 1955. So during the period 1955 – 1958,was there any covers used in PNG, which one would think would carry stamps of the 1952 definitive series, as they were on sale till 1960.
Having contacted the Wesley Cover Service owners but receiving no reply, I would be interested to hear what you have or any relevant comments… Sorry I can not get my images to upload.
